We celebrated Lindsay's 3rd birthday today at the Kid City playland...

Sunday in the (Garfield) Park

Though the weather was on the way to springlike today, it wasn't quite warm (or dry) enough to hang outdoors, so we opted instead to smell the flowers at the Garfield Park Conservatory.

Finally a Birthday Post!

A jam-packed three-day birthday celebration followed by some technical difficulties has delayed this post, but Mia's 3rd birthday was a grand event in three acts. Act One: the long-awaited soccer party with all her BFFs and even Coach Matt in attendance. Act Two: playdate with Mabel (aka Dr. Seuss read-a-thon). Act Three: on her actual birthday, we all took the day off to enjoy Pump it Up free play (complete with rock climbing) followed by lunch and shopping and more cupcakes. Oh, and for an Encore: custom-made soccer cookies (courtesy of Mom's friend Kerri) for all the D2D friends. Whew...it's amazing we all survived!

Polar Adventure Day

We braved the winter chill today for Polar Adventure Day at Northerly Island. Sled dogs, ice sculptures and a wolf named Juno were among the highlights. But for Mia, nothing could top the snowball fight with Cousin Bryan.

Back to Nature

We spent the morning of our holiday hanging at the Nature Museum. Unlike her mom, Mia had no fear of the butterflies and was ready to grab one or two if they'd let her. She even tried to catch a bird living in the haven, but didn't really like it when it tried to fly into her face. But her favorite part was the interactive rivers exhibit-- up to her elbows in the water!
